I live and work on a farm/ranch. I also substitute teach at Limon School, where I help with the spring musical. I direct the Vespers Music Concert the first Sunday of December and assist with a Community Choir in the spring.

 

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I’m married. We have 2 adult children and 1 adult niece that we raised.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I was an insurance agent for 13 years. I then was the CEO of our local medical clinic for 7 years. I was raised on the farm that we now own and operate. I love being a part of the land and raising food for our family, community and nation. It is important to me to be a good steward of the land that has been in my family since 1906.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Oscar’s and Jenny’s

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
Since 1973 when my mother married a local farmer!

 

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
I love the animated Disney and DreamWorks movies! I think Finding Nemo is my favorite – just keep swimming!

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Life is too short not to enjoy!

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
The Genoa Tower

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Jesus Christ, yes, He is alive. I would invite Him to my house!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Knowing that the people who live here really care about each other, and they will reach out and help in any way they can when there is a tragedy or crises.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Right here, doing what we do every day. Living and working on the farm

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
Hmmmmmm, maybe that I have never broken a bone in my body?

My husband.
