What High School do you attend?
Karval High School
Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My family consists of my brother Clayton, my sister Emily, my mother Michelle, and my father Mark Nelson. I am the middle child, and we get along well. Emily is currently attending CSU, while Clayton is a freshman here at Karval School. My mom is an agronomist, while my father works as an FSA Technician. One of my mother’s favorite pastimes is to sew, when she’s not chasing after one of us kids!
What are your plans after graduation?
My plan is to attend Colorado State University this fall. I currently plan on majoring in mathematics with the goal of eventually becoming a math teacher.
What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Jean’s located in Hugo and Wendy’s Located in Limon
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
If I could travel anywhere right now, I would travel to Hawaii. I really want to see the ocean at some point and what better place than Hawaii. I would love to see the difference of culture, and it would be fun to try many of the foods. Who could turn down real shaved Ice!
What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Mulan
If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
If I was asked to give general advise, I’d say that you should never give up if you believe in something stick with it. If your bad at something, you can improve if you work at it be that an instrument, spelling, or just fitting in. Be persistent in being you, and you will succeed.
If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
Tom Holland Because although he’s very famous, he did not let that go to his head. He seems like he’d be a good friend and someone who wouldn’t care about trivial stuff and would just care that you are a decent human being. I’d meet at Wendy’s because 1. he’d probably be freaked out that there aren’t very many people so something familiar would be good. 2. It is hard to beat a baked potato.
What is your favorite thing about our community?
The closeness of our community, someone is in trouble, you help, flat tire or otherwise.
Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Hopefully with my first Job as a teacher, where I have no clue.
What is something on your bucket list?
Go to a Broadway Musical
What is your go to band / singer when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Imagine Dragons
Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
My favorite month is May. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. That’s when the best food of the year is served. In my opinion the best day on the calendar is March 14th which is PI day.
