Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I grew up on a 4th-generation farm south of Arriba, Colorado. My parents are Kevin and Erika Saffer, both of whom also attended McPherson College, from which I’ll be graduating this spring! I grew up working on the farm with my father. Halfway through high school I decided that becoming a physician is how I wanted to impact the world.
What are your plans after graduation?
I am going to apply to a one-year post-baccalaureate program,a Master of Science in Biomedical Science, at Kansas City University in Kansas City, Missouri directly upon graduating from McPherson College in order to make myself a more competitive applicant for DO school. Following that, I will be applying to the osteopathic medicine program at Kansas City University.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would want to travel to Sweden. I have heard there is a great atmosphere there and it looks beautiful.

If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
Get involved in clubs that you’re interested in. These will give you many opportunities to grow yourself as a leader and get your name out across the campus as somebody who is passionate about what they’re doing.
If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?

If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?

How tightly knit everybody is.

A licensed Doctor of Osteopathic medicine
